An 'Epiphany' of Sorts - Kainey puts Service above Self
Under intense pressure from  a raft of world leaders  (business and political, living and dead)   our long suffering President (chief cook and bottle-washer) has conceded that plans announced over the Christmas break for his imminent retirement were premature and entertained with a total lack of empathy for the rest of us. Hence he is staying on the ticket   (bugger) . Besides, nobody else wanted the job(s).   Thanks to those responsible (you know who you are and...

Child Safety Policy
Even though some clubs don't currently have junior teams in the field there is still a need for due diligence concerning 'Child Safety'. Many younger players competing in open-age teams at clubs like Blackburn North are very much under our responsibility in this area and for that reason cricket organisations across Australia at all levels have been required to adopt "Australian Cricket's Child Safety Policy" which incorporates three key documents - AC Policy for Safeguarding Children and...

CRICKET ANSWERS THE BIG ONE!
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was 'cricket', and the Word was good!   An answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything was found to be "42" by the super computer "Deep Thought" after seven and a half million years of calculations. Deep Thought qualified its answer by identifying the obvious, that the actual question itself was never known. Nevertheless, as there are 42 'laws of cricket' there can be little doubt that this was an overriding factor ...
Legends of Local Sport
At the Annual General Meeting held Wednesday 7 August 1968 Blackburn North CC (formerly Meadow CC) elected its first two Life Members.   Len Toogood, Don Watts and their families had served the Club in every capacity since migrating from Morton Park to Surrey Park in the early 1950s. Both also played in Blackburn Football Club's 1948 premiership team which comprised a number of others who would soon make the same move to a recently established Meadow CC for their 'summer distractions'. &nb...
