Ross Kainey wins BHRDCA's Oct 2019 Volunteer Award
Date of Event Blackburn North Cricket Club : Fri Nov 15, 2019 8:00PM

Even a cursory glance at BHRDCA's website landing page over the past week (from early-mid November) would inexorably have drawn a viewer's gaze to right-of-screen and the unmistakable reference to Blackburn North CC's follicularly challenged and somewhat 'chubby' chairperson as "Volunteer of the Month" for October 2019. Ross Kainey certainly has been 'raking in' the brownie points this season to an even greater extent than usual. Every Friday evening he can be found at "Blackburn Hotel" 'haunting' their Sports Bar, Beer Garden and Atrium Lounge selling meat raffle tickets until the 8:00 pm-ish draw.

In his role as club President Ross routinely takes on the responsibility for assisting our other valued volunteers to the extent that on occasion he is 'sent packing' with the oranges to an away game allowing a degree of respite for those manning the gun-rails at home. But enough about the rest of us, bragging rights on this occasion rest squarely on Ross Kainey and there's no one better qualified to exercise them than "he who must be obeyed".

One thing is absolutely certain, Ross will be dining out on this one until at least the end of season 2020/21 ... and likely also during the intervening football season (god help us if he wins the annual award). Now, on a serious note, congratulations to you Ross Kainey. This is well deserved recognition for a stellar ongoing effort ... but enough said about that too. We don't want it going to your head because we aren't finished with you yet!
