Armistice Day 2020 - "Lest We Forget"
Date of Event Blackburn North Cricket Club : Mon Nov 9, 2020 6:00PM

11 November is "Armistice Day", known variously around the world as 'Remembrance Day' (alternatively 'Remembrance Sunday' which is marked on the nearest Sunday to 11 Nov) and 'Veterans Day'. Since an Armistice was signed in the early hours of 11 November 1918 to formally end the Great War at 11:00am that morning, the 11th day of the 11th month at the 11th hour has been a time traditionally set aside for two minutes of silent reflection in memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice (some have reduced this to one minute).

This year, if you haven't already done so, buy a poppy to wear and please make a point off stopping where ever you are at 11:00am on the 11th of November to pay the appropriate respects.
